To cut down manufacturing costs, lots of OEMs make their aftertreatment parts from ceramic instead of metal. Ceramic is cheaper, but the brittle material is less capable of withstanding the heat and pressure of the engine; the result is more fuel consumption and a shorter working life. Our metal catalysts are stronger, withstand higher temperatures, and reach operating temperatures faster. This has obvious benefits:
- The superior coating paired with the complementary design of our Diesel Particulate Filters restores fuel efficiency. The result is less soot buildup and noticeable fuel savings.
- The design and coating on our Metalcor® Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOCs) reduces engine backpressure and makes regens more efficient. This means fewer and shorter regens, less downtime pulled over on the roadside, fewer schedule disruptions, and lower fuel costs.
- We’re the only aftermarket manufacturer to supply Metalcor® Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems for trucks and buses. As well as reducing toxic NOx emissions in the exhaust, our efficient SCR design increases your savings. This is because our SCR consumes less DEF than many OEM models.
These benefits would usually mean a much more expensive product. However, our DCL supply chain allows Roadwarrior to offer a superior catalyst at a comparable cost to its ceramic counterpart.
